Burials

Anyone wishing to arrange a burial in the churchyard in Houghton should get in touch with the Team Vicar of St. Catharine's Church. In practice, it is often the funeral director who does this on behalf of the family. In order to be buried in the churchyard, a person must have lived in the parish at the time of their death, unless they are being buried in an existing family grave.

There is no civic cemetery at Houghton on the Hill. The nearest crematorium is Leicester Crematorium which is in Gilroes Cemetery, Groby Road, Leicester LE3 9QG.
